Sizes and Thickness Options
Dovetail Drawer Box Dimensions
- Drawer Height: heights range from 3" to 12" in 1/16" increments.
- Drawer Width and Depth: width and depth from 4" to 72" in 1/16" increments.
Wood Thickness Options
- Soft maple is available in stock at 1/2" and 5/8" thickness.
- Walnut and White Oak are available in stock at 1/2" thickness.
- Additional wood thicknesses not held in stock are available at request.
Drawer Bottoms
- We offer 1/4" and 3/8" thickness bottoms in stock for maple and walnut.
- White Oak is available in stock for 3/8" thickness only.
- Standard bottom groove placement is 1/2" from the bottom of the drawer box.
Assembly and Finish
Drawer Box Assembly
Standard dovetail drawers are made fully assembled. Unassembled dovetail drawers are available upon request.
Drawer Box Sanding
After assembly, drawer sides are run through a side sanding belt, followed by two rounds of top sanding by hand to create a flat, flush top, and a final edge break post-finish.
Drawer Box Finish
After drawer box assembly and initial prep sanding, we apply two coats of a clear pre-catalyzed lacquer by hand to ensure a consistent and smooth finish.
Size Specifications and Tolerances
Eagle Woodworking manufactures all wood products to the nearest 1/16" or 1.6mm, allowing for a tolerance of +/-1/32" or +/-0.8mm.
